Our Easter weekend turned out to be a lot of fun. It was so nice to spend some quality time with our families and friends. We didn't dye eggs or anything ourselves, just because Carter is to little, but we were able to really get some quality time with my mom's family, Nathan's family, and Dustin's family. My dad is in Hawaii, I know I'm sure they had a rough Easter.
Sunday morning we were to be at mom's at 10. I don't kow how but we had decided to dress up for Easter. I used to as a child, and decided I wanted to bring that back. It isn't very often we get to dress up and I think it is good for the soul every now and then. Plus, we had just gotten those ties and my dress for J's wedding, and I thought they would be the perfect Easter outfit.
We got to mom's and had a nice breakfast made by Garry and Dustin. It was very yummy. Then while my sister and Colin were at church, the Easter bunny showed up and hid the eggs in the house and out front. Once they were back, Colin was anxious to gather his eggs. He was so fun to watch. Each time he would find an egg he would say, "ooooh," and then run over there and get it, then throw it into his basket, so each egg broke when it got in his basket. Dustin and I got very excited for next year, when Carter can participate. We then had an adult Easter egg hunt, which was awesome, and we each got to find 10 eggs, and they all had some money for us.
We then headed over to Nathan's house for our family Easter party there. Nathan has an incredibly large family, which is always a lot of fun. We were able to do some pictures, eat some lunch, and of course have an Easter egg hunt for the children. They loved it, and it was such a nice day, that we spent some time soaking up the sun. Most of the kids were dressed up and some of the adults, and I love that. My god-daughters looked gorgeous in there matching Easter dresses. I can't believe how big all the kids are getting.
This is my god-daughter MaLeah Lin...She is my name sake! I LOVE HER!
Anyway, we then went to Dustin's sisters for Easter dinner, and yep...you guessed it, another Egg hunt. We had a great dinner made by my mother-in-law, and some good old family time together. It was a lot of fun!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and busy weekend you had! I was just thinking how lucky Carter is to come into such a large family. You have your family, Dustin's family, and Nathan's family! You are all so close and I think that is so awesome for Carter. Anyways, I am glad you had such a wonderful 1st Easter with Carter! He is a doll!
