The Closing of a Legend!

Tonight I took a very large step in growing up; tonight I closed my Lane Bryant credit card. Now, most of you know me, and know I shop there, but I don't know how many know how often I really shopped there.

I love Lane Bryant, they always made a chubby girl feel better. If I was excited, I went shopping. If I was sad, I went shopping. Funeral, wedding, date, holiday party, night on the town, bored, feeling down, any of those...I went shopping! However, I am poor. So, I always went shopping with my credit card.

I got my credit card when I was in my early 20's and we've been through a lot together. I have bought thousands and thousands of dollars worth of clothes on that card. I have learned to shop the system, and can buy a ton of clothes, for a good deal and then charge it! My credit card, in all of our years together, NEVER denied me!

That is where the problem took place. It NEVER denied me. So, whenever I needed something I would charge it. Whenever I wanted something, I would charge it. I can't even tell you how many times I would go shopping, get a good amount, thinking my card would deny me, and BAM! approved. It truly was a girls best friend.

With our tax returns Dustin and I have decided to try to secure some finances and pay things off. Unfortunately, Lane Bryant was on the list. It was also determined, I would close it, because Lord knows, the minute I "needed" a new clothing item, right back on the card it would go! Tonight, I paid the card in full, and closed it.

I know this is so silly but I am so sad. I LOVED my credit card and it was mine to go be careless with. Now, I never dropped hundreds at once, but $150 here, $75 there, and before you know it, you have a huge credit card bill. So...here is to responsibility and growing up. Lane Bryant credit card....thanks for all the good times, and bad! I will always think of you when I desperately want to go shopping, and won't have you to take along with me!

My Need....

I have had this undying urge to talk to someone, and yet I have no idea who that someone is. I feel like I have so much to say, but I don't know about what! I need to spill my guts, but what is there to spill and who do you spill them too?

I don't know what my deal is, but lately, I feel like I have so much going on in my world. I feel like I am stuck in my head because I don't know who to talk to to lay it all on the table. However, saying that, I don't even know what it is I need to say. I just feel like I am spinning in circles and can't catch my breath.

This has kind of been a rough beginning to 2010, and I seem to have the blahs. I keep thinking I am getting better, and I really am, but then I fall into a temporary rut. I just feel like so much has happened. Between co-workers, students, husbands, children, friends, family, etc. I feel like it has been a lot for me to deal/cope/ handle right now! I just don't know how to do it.

Anyway, this blog makes absolutely no sense, but at least I vented for a minute. Please none of you who are my chatty people take offense. I know that you would be more than happy to listen and be right there with me. It truly is I just don't know what to say to another person right now....basically, I am stuck in my own head and it is driving me crazy!

Valentine's Day Weekend

Dustin and I continued to have another nice weekend. Friday evening we had dinner at my mom's house because Gar, Mom, and S took the kids on tracks and front runner, since it was free on Friday. We then went to our niece and nephews birthday party at Kristie's. Zak turned five and Andie turned nine.

Once we were done there we headed to Nathan's house for margarita night with some friends. Since we don't believe in drinking and driving, and we both wanted to enjoy the night, we ended up camping out at Nathan's house. We had drinks then all went to breakfast together Saturday morning. It was so fun to have a night with them, it has been far to long!

After breakfast, Dustin and I went to the grocery store, home, and just relaxed for awhile. Come about 4:30 we started packing up and headed to Logan. Once we got to Logan we just hung out; it was great. We had dinner and watched Pretty Woman, then got Peanut ready for bed. Once Carter was in bed, Dustin and I went out to the hot-tub, that was actually hot, and enjoyed the heat and bubbles. We were able to unwind and spend some time together.

Sunday morning Dustin made breakfast for me and we watched a movie. We then got ready to meet my grandfather, dad, and Kel for lunch. They had called that morning and asked if we wanted to do breakfast, but when they found out we were north and we were going to be passing Papa Lynn's and that is where they were headed, we decided to meet there.

We enjoyed lunch with Papa Lynn, Dad and Kel, and talked for a few hours. It was so nice to spend some quality time with my grandfather. He is turning 87 years old tomorrow, and at this stage in my life I value every spare minute I get with him.

After we left, we went to Nathan's for dinner. We wanted to make sure he wasn't alone on Valentine's Day. Dustin made a nice mahi-mahi, London broil steak, cauliflower and asparagus dinner, with Dutch Apple pie ala mode for dessert. We then watched a movie, and Peanut and I fell asleep.

Today I have just hung out at home for the most part. Carter has a cold and I am feeling a little worn out as well, so we are just relaxing. It has truly been a very nice three day weekend.

Winter Palooza

Saturday we were supposed to go to Castle Dale for our nephews baptism. However, due to weather conditions and it being a 2 1/2 hour drive, we decided not to make the trip. Stacy and I were so bummed, cause we were looking forward to an outing. So we decided to take the kids to Winter Palooza at South Town Expo. Nee Ners and Grandpa decided to come along as well.

It turned out to be so much fun. There was so much going on, and so many funny things for everyone. Carter was able to walk on a balance beam, do a back flip, put his face on a cow body, dance to a Hannah Montana impersonator, get a U of U tattoo, play with a track, and attempt the bouncing houses.

Peanut doing a back flip, hands down and all!

Carter playing with the drums.

"Me, Moooo-Cow?"

Our kids LOVE bubbles!

I also really enjoyed the Palooza. They had so much information and activities. We signed up for Utah Kids Club, which will give us buy one get one free to many events, restaurants, etc. It also sends an e-mail with a daily calendar of what events are going on that week.

I was able to talk to a woman about adoption, buy a book, received two books free, find information on music classes, gymnastics, art classes, etc. It really turned out to be a fun event, and for several hours, the whole thing cost less than $20. That is a score in our world. It was so great to spend time with the family, and get away from the house.

Hopefully, now that we are a member of the kids club, we will find more activities to participate in.

Best of Buds, ready for lunch! LET'S GO!!!

Park City

Friday afternoon, Dustin, Carter, and I headed to Park City. We were asked to go listen to a time share spiel, and we usually do it. We figure its an easy $100 for 90 minutes and we have mastered telling them no. So, after work, we got in our car and headed East.

Dustin and I love Park City. I think it is because it holds sentimental value for us. Dustin used to live there when we were dating and we would spend a lot of time there. I would drive there every Tuesday after school, we would go on a date, spend the night, then drive home Wednesday morning before my next class. It became a routine and I always looked forward to my time in Park City with him.

We went up to the time share presentation and listened to all the details. This was our second time to this particular one, and out of all the ones we have done, it is our least favorite. So, that makes telling them no rather easy. We received our $100 and left. While we were there we ran into Dustin's old roomie, who we haven't seen in six or more years, and exchanged numbers. It was so fun to see Josh again.

Dustin and I then took Peanut to Red Banjo.
It was our favorite place to go when we were dating. They have great pizza and a fun, chill atmosphere. Once there, we were seated but told it would take about 30 minutes for our pizza to be ready. No big deal, we can wait. Well, over an hour and fifteen minutes later, it was still not out. Carter was exhausted, it was 8:30, and he could no longer sit in the highchair. So, we asked for our pizza to go, and an hour and a half after getting there, we left, with our food in a box. It was a little frustrating, but the pizza was great.

On our way out Dustin ran into another friend, exchanged numbers, and we headed down the canyon. It was a nice outing, but hopefully we can go again soon!
