Three years ago we decided it would be fun for the NelTon gang to go to Castledale and celebrate Christmas together. We did it the week before Christmas so most could be there and spent the entire weekend as a family. Well, this is now the third year that we have continued this, and I think it is going to be a tradition that sticks.
On Saturday morning Our Lil Adams family packed up and headed east. We didn't go up on Friday because I wasn't feeling well, and didn't know if I dare take thebug to Castledale. However, by Saturday morning I felt better and we didn't want to miss the family gathering. So, we did our last minute shopping and got on the road.
We arrived in Castledale about 1:00 pm just in time for Art and Kate's awesome tacos. We then hung out for a bit and just caught up. It was so fun to spend time with my siblings! The boys then went shooting, and us girls stayed back and began dinner.
About 5:00 we opened Christmas. Dad and Kel spoiled all of us and the kids were in heaven. It was so fun to see all their expressions and get even more in the Christmas mood.
We then had an amazing Christmas dinner. We have some great chefs within our little family and the dinner was so good. We then cleaned up, got children ready for bed, and then played a mean game of "hand and foot." I should mention that this year Dustin and I ROCKED IT!!!
We finally called it a night about midnight and went to bed. Sunday morning we had breakfast, cleaned up and headed home.
It was so nice to have some time with my family and want to again thank the Johansen's for opening their home to us.
We truly enjoy having all of you down! We hope this tradition sticks, it seems to be the only way we can all get together at once. Maybe next year we will have everyone.
